This is second part of the croc series. The first part being https://photecx.wordpress.com/2012/07/08/the-fiery-eyes/Have a look!
This isn’t the same croc as the one in the previous post. They are offspring of a mother crocodile that died recently at the Kukrail Reserve Forest.
The black spots that you see is actually moss. The pond in which they are being kept is full of moss. I had a chat with a local authority and he told me that it was left to the monsoon rains to clean up the deposited moss in the pond. The reserve park has about 25 adult species of crocodile and an equal number of the offspring. The national park also has turtles and alligators that are brought into from the local rivers.
I wish I could have photographed the adults but they lay huddled together in a closed cemented pond and were enjoying their post-brunch siesta.
